Of The Red Man copper elongated penny
Copper elongated penny from Oklahoma. The banner around the top of the coin reads "Land Of The Red Man", with the image being that of a Native American on his pony, both slumped as if in rest. This image has been used in other medium as well and I personally find it inspiring. The image is impressed in 'portrait' style, with the finished coin taller than wide.

I prefer pennies minted prior to 1982 because after 1982 the mint began using a coin made mostly of zinc with a less than 1% copper coating. In pre-1982 pennies that percentage was 95% copper, 5% zinc. While you may sometimes find it difficult to tell the difference between the two, it usually becomes more obvious once the penny is pressed. The process reveals the zinc beneath the copper, which many find detracting from the pressed image itself.
I have inspected these coins carefully and found them to be as described above. I do not clean or 'dress' them in any way before listing them. Elongated coins are also called pressed, rolled, flattened, smashed, mashed, stretched, and squished.
