LIBERIA by AMERICAN MINT

This is a $10 George Washington Liberia proof quality commemorative cupro-nickel “coin” produced by the American Mint of Mechanicville, Pennsylvania in 2003. It comes in a plastic protective case inside a vinyl pouch with a “certificate of Authenticity”. The coin has not been removed from the plastic case since I acquired it. This was originally sold for $19.95. This and similar coins were widely advertised on television. It was not authorized or approved by the government of Liberia and has no monetary value. The American Mint was ordered to cease production and refund money to buyers. I don't know how many of these are still out in the market. Although not a genuine coin, this item could fit in an Africa, Liberia, counterfeit/fake coin collection. Since I have no idea at all what the value of this item might be, I'll offer at a “Buy It Now” price and allow bidders to make offers. I will consider all offers.
